Building like writing or writing like building (Guatemala)

Curator Josseline Pinto was interested in the work “Building like writing or writing like building” that I made in 2019 as part of the II Joan Brossa Symposium, using a castle building game with small pieces of wood. The thing is that on this occasion the possibility arose of producing much larger wooden blocks so that people could build human-sized structures. The aim of the work is to invite people to question the limits between writing and construction through pieces that mix letters and three-dimensional volumes. When playing with it, you can build with the aim of writing, or write with the aim of building. You can also start building and end up writing something, by accident or as a consequence. Or the other way around.
